Bird deterrent system explanation:
The bird deterrent wire system is a flexible system that, when properly applied, can lead to excellent results for keeping pigeons away from, among others, edges and ledges. The materials are primarily stainless steel.
The thin nylon-coated stainless steel wire must be tensioned between threaded rods using wire clamps. The threaded rods should be placed no more than 150cm apart. The wire is tensioned with a micro spring on every second rod, so tension a maximum of 3 meters per spring. The rods can be secured by drilling (use anchor plug 25mm) or screwing/gluing (use plastic base). Where one ends at a vertical wall, an anchor plug (25mm) with a split pin (25mm) can be mounted in the vertical wall to finish off the wire.
Threaded rods are used to keep the stainless steel bird deterrent wire at the correct height above the edge or ledge.
For an effective pigeon deterrent, it is advisable to use at least two rows. The front row, at approximately 20mm from the edge, should have a wire height of about 100mm. The second and subsequent rows should have a wire height of about 130mm. Due to the two height differences and the two different mounting methods (drilling with anchor plug or mounting with plastic base), the threaded rods are available in 4 different lengths.
Stainless steel bird deterrent wire should be attached using loops.
Wire clamps are used to create loops.
With the special crimping tool, the wire clamps can be fixed onto the wire.
