The choice of a bird control system depends, among other things, on the bird species and the level of bird pressure. The bird spikes consist of strong, weather-resistant stainless steel spikes with a diameter of 1.4 mm, mounted on a transparent polycarbonate strip. The strip is UV-resistant and resistant to weathering, making the system suitable for long-term outdoor use. The stainless steel spikes are securely anchored in the plastic strip by means of a patented process. This ensures that the spikes remain in place even when exposed to temperature fluctuations and changing weather conditions. The ends of the spikes are blunt to help prevent injury to birds and installers. This makes the system a bird-friendly way to deter birds without injuring them.
For effective bird control, it is important that the entire landing surface is properly protected. The tips of the bird spikes must protrude at least 5 mm beyond the edge. When several rows of bird spikes are installed next to each other, the distance between the tips must not exceed 65 mm. This prevents birds from landing between the different rows. The installation drawing on page 2 of the information sheet shows these distances and the correct positioning along the edge.
